Bottom line: Botanist and Library fine china plates from £25 each, available in two sizes

Beautifully rich, deliciously detailed and resolutely British, five new fine china plates from gifts and homewares brand Chase and Wonder are designed to decorate walls or dine upon. Using a unique collage technique combining technology, typography and illustration, husband and wife founders David and Faye Aspinall layer old sketches, photographs and etchings from Victorian journals with their own drawings to create whimsical designs in a monochrome palette, allowing for a elegantly eclectic mix-and-match look. Hand-cast and meticulously hand-finished in Stoke-on-Trent by a small father-and-daughter pottery, each plate is machine-washable, microwave-friendly and made to last.
